"Animal Welfare in Practice" Conference - Mink Farming

The 10th annual "Animal Welfare in Practice" conference is coming up on October 3rd and 4th, 2014, and is focusing on Mink Farming. It is being held in Charlottetown, PEI at the Atlantic Veterinary College. 

This conference will be of interest to veterinary and animal science students, mink farmers, veterinarians, and government and industry representatives. Presentations will cover topics such as the new Code of Practice, health and diseases, cage enrichments, veterinarian perspectives, and more!

On-Farm Composting Course this September!

Extended Learning at the The Faculty of Agriculture of Dalhousie University is holding an On-Farm Composting course in Truro this September!

The course has been designed to showcase best practices in waste management (deadstock or other organic waste), and meets the requirements of the Nova Scotia Fur Industry Act and Fur Industry regulations.

It is being held on Wednesday, September 17 and Thursday, September 18 at Perennia Park in Bible Hill.
